The National Museum of Military Vehicles is a private collection of vehicles that have been restored and displayed for the public. This museum is absolutely stunning. I just can't accurately describe the level of attention to detail that was put into planning out and creating the exhibits. I've been to a lot of museums, but this one contains the best exhibits I've ever seen.

Many of the displays incorporate all of your senses. In one area, the ceiling contains a video that looks like the sky, and planes occasionally buzz overhead, some of them dropping bombs. In another area, you walk through jungle foliage, and hear the crackling of a radio and occasional explosions, and the air is filled with the scents of motor oil, gunpowder, and vegetation. In one area, the vehicles were surrounded by "snow," images of falling snow was projected onto the walls, and you could hear the wind whistling.

Some of the more immersive displays were so well done that they were a little unnerving. There were signs placed at the entrance to those areas warning visitors what was included in the display.

PLANNING A VISIT
I thought the number of exhibits and the size of the museum was a bit overwhelming for one afternoon. I would like to go back and spread a tour out over several days. I'd break my visits down by different time periods or wars, do some background research to prepare, and then tour the specific displays corresponding to the research.
