LOCATION: The Lizard Head Pass Rest Area is on Colorado 145, approximately 12 miles south of the traffic circle on the west side of Telluride

The Lizard Head Pass Rest Area was a frequent stop for us when we were in the area. The stop has 360 degrees of spectacular, unobstructed mountain views. It also has 2 vault toilets that were usually clean and stocked with toilet paper, which was also a welcome sight. There are a couple of areas with interpretive signs that explain the history of the area and the names and locations of the surrounding peaks.
