The Sunshine Mountain Overlook was the location that provided the most jaw dropping scenery of our entire trip! There is a fairly large parking area right off Colorado 145 with striking views any time of day, but we're convinced that around sunset, there was a special kind of magic involved with the views. We were surprised that, while many people stopped for a quick selfie and then got back on the highway, very few people took the time to fully enjoy how the changing light completely reinvented the view every few minutes throughout the sunset. We encourage you to pack some snacks and stay long enough for the entire sunset experience!
